Heaven, Self and Earth
As we just noted, human beings are like the Earth, so let us now imagine ourselves to be the Earth. The ancient Daoists spoke of sun, moon and stars, and we humans are a star (the Earth). From birth to death, we cannot for a moment escape the radiation of the sun (yang) and the moon (yin). The Earth absorbs the rays of yin and yang and turns in an orderly way because of the balancing gravitational pull among the three, and with the participation of distant stars in the tides, temperature differences, rotation, gravity and geological change, the various solar terms appear and nurture all things. We must admit that the subtle relationships among them are truly inconceivable. If they had no life and no thought, how could they be arranged so thoroughly? If there were no communication or mutual influence among them, how could they fit together so finely? If we ponder this question carefully, we realize how small we are.We humans call this pattern of fitting together a magnetic field; like molecular structure, things attract one another yet are arranged in an orderly fashion, living together harmoniously without harming one another. This is the basic structural principle of all things. Moreover, if human cells are magnified under a microscope to the highest power science can currently observe, there seems to be some connection between cell molecules, just as between the nine planets, which appear unconnected yet are pulled together by gravity, and gravity cannot be observed by the human eye.The sun gives off light and heat for the other planets to absorb, just as cells release spiritual power for the organs to use.Heat cannot be seen, nor can spiritual power; and cells die every few dozen days because they have released their spiritual power and died, just as one day our sun, too, will burn itself out.Zooming out further, the same is true between the solar system and the galaxy, and between galaxies.Return now to reality: are not families, counties, cities and nations also like this?A magnetic field pulls us together; those who are closer we call fated connections, those even closer we call friends, and even parents, brothers and sisters.Who invented and created this power? And what power created the universe? We can only admit that humans cannot do it!Moreover, this power is benevolent and highly wise, and it lets us choose our own future!Returning once more to the Earth, let us compare the father to the sun and the mother to the moon (because it is nearest to the Earth), the nine planets to brothers and sisters, the interior of the Earth to the body, and humans to soul-light bodies. Now use your imagination: imagine the Earth is ill, its ecology in disorder and polluted; could humans save it?I believe you will say: if the human soul-light body could have high wisdom, it could stop all this worsening.Right! To return to our theme, raising the self-nature light-level is raising wisdom, and only wisdom can keep a person healthy, let a person transcend, and maintain balance! The Earth is irradiated day and night by all the stars, including the sun and moon, and after the circulation of the five elements inside and outside the Earth it likewise radiates earth spirits and earth qi.People in different corners of the Earth receive different influencing magnetic fields, and the body's five elements will correspond to this magnetic field; this is what fate studies call the twelve Earthly Branches. After the human body receives the influence of the ten Heavenly Stems and twelve Earthly Branches, destiny is formed. Why can a person's later circumstances be judged from the Eight Characters of birth? This will be discussed in a later part of the article.
