The Greater the Heart, the Greater the Blessing

Many spend a lifetime pursuing money yet overlook that "blessing" is the root that carries wealth. Our arising thought determines how large the wealth-store's capacity is. If a person is extremely selfish, seeking only their own enjoyment, their heart's capacity is like a small container, and the blessing it can hold is very limited.

When the heart's gate closes and its capacity is narrow, the wealth-box is naturally shallow. The truth of the dharmadhātu is: if the heart's capacity does not open, your wealth will not be great, and your wealth-store forever holds only this little. Practice seeks not worldly money but "Dharma-wealth" and "heavenly wealth." To gain vast resources, the first condition is breaking the small self and expanding the heart.

How to expand? Give rise to selfless bodhicitta and the four immeasurables. Never shrink the heart; bravely enlarge it, for the cosmos inherently has the function of enlarging. When the heart grows great, great enough to hold all things under heaven, the blessing of the buddhas and bodhisattvas comes endlessly.

Blessing is not won by grasping but held by capacity. When the heart is willing to step out, as large as your world, so large your wealth. When the heart moves from the narrow "me" to the vast "beings," life's scope utterly changes, and the dharmadhātu's endless resources naturally surge toward you.
