Send Merit Out, and Blessing Comes Back
📖Master’s Reading
There is a law of reaction in the cosmos. The truth of the dharmadhātu is: merit kept on yourself brings little benefit, but when you send it out, it expands back to you, and that benefit is enormous. The running of life and the cosmos is like a flowing river. When we are willing to share goodwill and blessing outward, we form a larger virtuous cycle for life.
If you selfishly guard merit on yourself, it is like piling assets in a warehouse to grow moldy, blocking the convection of energy, and naturally cannot exert mighty power. True wealth was never in how much you have but in how much goodwill you are willing to let flow.
After doing good or practicing, if you know to dedicate at once to the dharmadhātu and beings, this altruistic thought triggers resonance in the cosmos. When you no longer grip blessing and are willing to give like a river flowing freely, the buddhas and bodhisattvas magnify this selfless heart's capacity boundlessly. Remember, flowing good has the most power; merit sent out finally becomes doubled blessing, flowing endlessly back into your life.
