Awaken the Inner Buddha-Nature
📖Master’s Reading
Giving rise to bodhicitta is the first step to activating the inner, awakening the buddha-nature and connecting to the dharmadhātu. Many seek blessing outward, not knowing that when we activate the mind of loving-kindness, compassion, joy and equanimity, we awaken the inner buddha-nature. Buddha-nature is the switch that opens potential, able to transcend the worldly heart's capacity and so connect to the dharmadhātu.
Where is the dharmadhātu? In fact the deep ninety-five percent of the brain's latent ability can all be called the dharmadhātu. All our lives, we often live only in the surface five percent of worldly consciousness, entangled by the eight sufferings. It is like a frog at the bottom of a well, thinking the dry well before it is the whole world, never having seen the vastness outside.
Buddha-nature is not sought outside but inherently complete. Bodhicitta is like a key that opens the light long asleep within. When you give rise to selfless loving-kindness, compassion, joy and equanimity, willing to benefit beings, the heart's capacity expands at once, breaking through that five-percent limit, rescuing you from the well of suffering and guiding you to the boundless ecosystem-pool of the dharmadhātu.
True practice is awakening that ninety-five percent of potential. When wisdom and compassion awaken, no longer held hostage by private desire, the soul resonates at one frequency with the buddhas and bodhisattvas and receives endless blessing.
