Set Down Love and Hate
📖Master’s Reading
When our mind rests in the distinctions of love and hate, right and wrong, high and low, it easily falls into opposition and loses true peace. Worldly affliction often comes from too small a heart, always weighing grievance with a worldly eye. If we can invoke the great wisdom of Mañjuśrī Bodhisattva, we understand that the Dharma's emptiness is in fact pure and undefiled.
The truth of the dharmadhātu is: in emptiness-wisdom all dharmas are equal, far from all worldly relativity. In that higher-dimensional world all beings are the same, without difference, and there is no such thing as love and hate. When you can see through that cause and effect are but a process, and learn to tune the mind's frequency as high as the buddhas and bodhisattvas, all hatred, anger and emotional tangles disperse in an instant, and the mind naturally regains peace.
True "great wisdom" has no opposition. When you no longer confine your gaze to narrow right and wrong but stand at a higher dimension to view things, understanding that everyone is learning and growing, your heart slowly softens. Set down all opposition and comparison, and learn understanding and tolerance. When you are willing to loosen your hands, the tangles that once pierced your heart can no longer torment you, and vast wisdom beyond the mundane arrives.
