Mend Most Where You Owe Most
📖Master’s Reading
Many desperately pursue in the world the things they like, yet often overlook the life-lesson they truly need to face. We think practice is to pursue perfection and strength, but the truth is, we are reborn in fact to "patch holes," to mend a past life that was flawed and incomplete.
Life's greatest growth often happens exactly where we are least willing to face and feel most lack. The gaps that make you feel regret, pain, or fall again and again are the debts left from your past lives. Whatever you feel most in debt over in life, you must work to patch that plot of soil; once that soil is mended, you owe no more.
True practice is honestly facing your own ledger of karma. Owe your parents — work to mend family love; owe beings — repay with compassion and giving; owe yourself — learn self-love. When you no longer flee and are willing to steadily give where it hurts most and you owe most, filling that hole with remedial good deeds, once the gap is level the tangle of karma unravels. Mend the right place, let the soul owe no more, and life naturally welcomes true transformation and completeness.
