Rebirth Is to Complete the Unfinished
📖Master’s Reading
The many clingings in life are often not by chance. Why does one crave family love so deeply? Another chase achievement desperately? Or hold a certain regret that will not leave the heart? From the view of practice, this is not clinging without reason but a lesson of life not yet completed.
We are reborn in order to fulfil wishes not fulfilled in the past, and as compensation for what we owed. We return to the human world bearing the karma of past lives in fact to "resit an exam." Relationships left incomplete, debts unpaid, letting-go unlearned — all become the various setbacks of this life, forcing us to face them again.
If we choose to flee or forever complain in the victim's role, these unfinished lessons will keep replaying in the future, forcing us to meet again. True practice is bravely facing the gaps within. Mend what is lacking; repay what is owed. When you are willing to calmly accept the trial and steadily mend the flaws and debts, the gaps of life slowly heal. So-called completeness is this: you do not owe the world, and others do not owe us. When each lesson is completed and each debt made good, the soul regains lightness and moves toward true completeness.
