Perhaps You Have Come to Repay a Debt

📖Master’s Reading

Some toil hard a whole life yet can never hold onto wealth; some give endlessly, seeming always busy for others. This is not fate's heartless toying but the manifestation of cause and effect. If the money you earn cannot be enjoyed and turns to nothing in a blink, take heed: this may be a process of "repaying a debt."

Many lament why money always disappears — like the wealth palace of a birth chart meeting the "void and robbery" stars, a bottomless black hole. In truth this is often because in past lives one owed others, and this life's unseen creditors rob the wealth away midway. If we forever stay in the victim's role, endlessly complaining that giving brings no return, this debt and pain only revolve without end.

Yet must a debt be repaid only with hard-earned cash? True practice is learning to mend with "Dharma." We can, through practice and the accumulation of merit and blessing, repay past debts. When you no longer complain in adversity and are willing to transform the mind and dedicate the merit of practice to the unseen creditors, a peaceful wisdom arises within. Once the debts of past lives are gradually repaid and the unseen black hole is filled, the wealth hard-earned in this life can naturally stay steadily at your side.

🌱Reflection for Daily Life

  • Repay debts with the merit of practice, and wealth naturally stays.
  • Understand that wealth turning to nothing is often karmic debt-repayment.
  • Notice whether you often complain that giving brings no return.
  • Learn to repay past debts with practice and merit.
  • Set down the victim's mindset and fill the gap by transforming the mind.
Teaching

Hard toil, yet wealth turns to nothing — all because past debts are unpaid;

transform the mind, practice and build merit — resolve the debt and keep the blessing.
