Let the Mind Go All the Way Up

📖Master’s Reading

The truth of the dharmadhātu: the final esoteric Dharma at the great pass of life and death is: "When you cannot breathe, recite: Oṃ Maṇi Padme Hūṃ — relinquish, relinquish, relinquish, relinquish, relinquish, relinquish, relinquish, and remember the sound goes upward." Why recite so many "relinquish" syllables in a row? Because "relinquish" is Avalokiteśvara's seed-syllable, clearly declaring I will go to Avalokiteśvara.

After the Great Bright Mantra seals the six realms, the seventh recitation is the god realm, and the eighth, ninth and beyond reach ever higher states. This is a mighty push, leading the soul to keep rising, rushing straight to the pure world of the buddhas and bodhisattvas — never go down to B1, B2 and fall into the lower realms.

In truth, "upward" is not only the direction the soul leaves the body but a state of mind that must be trained daily. If the mind is always dragged down by worldly resentment and clinging, life's energy sinks; conversely, when the mind is always toward good and toward light, the soul is naturally full of light, upward-rising power.

Practice is practicing to let the mind go all the way up. Never let yourself linger in the negative emotions of the lowest layer. When you are willing to raise your gaze and keep drawing near to higher wisdom, the mind rises, and the state of life and soul naturally rises with it, welcoming ultimate liberation.

🌱Reflection for Daily Life

  • The push of relinquish leads the soul upward.
  • Daily train a mind toward good and toward light.
  • The mind rises, and life rises.
  • Practice is practicing to let the mind go all the way up.
