To mark this auspicious occasion, a Black Wrathful Ḍākinī puja will be held, followed by a longevity empowerment. Merits & Benefits of the Black Wrathful Ḍākinī Puja
1 · Dispelling obstacles and demonic disturbance
With her mighty power, the Black Wrathful Ḍākinī swiftly destroys the practitioner's inner obscurations of affliction (greed, hatred, delusion, pride, doubt) and outer demonic obstacles, malign spirits and non-human interference.
She effectively counters the adverse conditions, illness, curses and black magic met in practice, with strong power of purification and protection.
2 · Purifying karma and misdeeds
This practice swiftly purifies grave misdeeds of many lifetimes, with especially great power of confession for faults such as breaking vows and the samaya of the tantric path.
It dispels the unwholesome fruits drawn by karma, such as calamity, short life and poverty.
3 · Enhancing practice and realization
As a wisdom ḍākinī, her practice opens wisdom and increases meditative experience, aiding the practitioner's realization of the nature of mind (the view of Dzogchen, Mahāmudrā and the like).
It brings accomplishment in the practice of the winds, channels and essences, swiftly entering the completion stage of the tantras.
4 · Dispelling obstacles to practice, protecting the Dharma
It offers the practitioner powerful protection so that the path is unobstructed; it greatly aids the work of propagating the Dharma and benefiting beings, so that the true Dharma long abides and wrong views are subdued.
5 · Accomplishing the four activities (pacifying, enriching, magnetizing, wrathful)
Pacifying: dispelling public calamities such as plague, war and natural disaster.
Enriching: increasing merit, long life, wealth and wisdom.
Magnetizing: guiding beings' minds toward virtue, gathering connected disciples.
Wrathful action: with a mind of great compassion (not hatred, but the skilful means of compassion), subduing the most evil beings or obstacles, cutting off the conditions for their continued wrongdoing.
6 · Accomplishing ultimate liberation
In essence a manifestation of the Prajñāpāramitā, the Mother of the Buddhas, ultimate practice attains a fruition non-dual with the buddhas; practising authentically with the master's oral transmission and empowerment, joined with pure motivation and the samaya, one may attain accomplishment in the bardo or in this very life.

Lengthening life and increasing wisdom: reciting the Longevity Buddha's heart-mantra increases life, merit and wisdom, and averts untimely death, early death or fatal accident.
Purifying misdeeds: countering death and ignorance, dispelling worldly illness and all unwholesome karma.
Smoothness in one's work: increasing wholesome karma and conditions, and long-lasting flourishing in worldly affairs.
Rebirth in the pure land: practising the Longevity Buddha's teaching, at the end of life one may also take rebirth smoothly in the Western Pure Land of Bliss.
